To begin with friendly cooperation reigns. As the levels progress the paths you must guide your lemmings along becomes more and more intertwined with that of your opponent. The two player split screen mode meanwhile is one of the best multiplayer experiences I have ever played on any platform.
Yet no matter how hard, there is always a logical solution and it is immensely satisfying when you crack a level that has been thwarting you for ages. The one player levels stretch your brain in a good way and soon become fiendishly taxing.
Truly inspirational - this game was so ahead of its time when released and is still a delight to play.
